My swipe does nothing

With the Two fingers control, a trick needs a pop. Hold one finger on the tail, then swipe up the deck with another finger. For a nollie, hold the nose and swipe down. If you want to play with one finger, open Settings (the gear) and set Swipe controls to One finger. One finger mode has ollies, nollies, and flips, but no shuvits.

How do I do a shuvit or a 360 flip?

Scoop the pop finger sideways as you swipe up with the other finger. A short scoop gives a 180 shuvit. A long scoop, about the width of the deck, gives a 360 shuvit. Add a flick off a deck edge to make a varial flip or a 360 flip. The trick guide (the list button) shows the moves for every trick.

How does the Game of S.K.A.T.E. work?

Tap the two-player button to start. Player 1 lands any trick, and player 2 must land the same trick. A miss gives player 2 a letter, and the player with all five letters loses. If the setter bails, the set passes to the other player. A trick can be set one time in a game, and the last letter gives two tries. The game is for two players on one phone, it needs no account, and it is not saved when you close the app. Tap the X button to end a game.

A kickflip shows as a heelflip

The name depends on your stance. Open Settings and choose Regular (left foot forward) or Goofy (right foot forward). The board moves the same way for both. Only the names change.

Motion mode names the wrong trick, or names nothing

Start with the phone level, the screen up, and the top edge away from you. Turn the phone in one smooth move and finish with the screen up. A turn that stops part way shows as a bail. A slow, careful turn can be too slow to start a trick, so turn a little faster.

The app says "Keep it in your hands"

The app detected that the phone was in the air. The phone must stay in your hands, and a trick in the air never counts. Never throw your phone.

How do I reset the look of the board?

Open Style (the paintbrush) and choose Reset to default at the bottom of the page.

Which iPhones work?

Fliptrick needs iOS 17 or later. Motion mode needs the motion sensors of a real iPhone.
