A skateboard
in your hands.

Fliptrick puts a 3D skateboard on your iPhone. Hold the tail, flick the front shoe, and land the trick. Or turn the phone in your hands and watch the board copy it.

How it works

Your fingers are the feet.

A real ollie takes two feet: the back foot pops and the front foot slides. Fliptrick uses the same two jobs.

1

Hold the tail

Put your back finger on the tail. The back shoe follows it and the nose tips up: the pop is loaded.

2

Flick the front shoe

Slide your front finger up the deck. Straight up is an ollie. Off the heel-side edge is a kickflip, off the toe-side edge is a heelflip.

3

Read the trick

The board pops toward you, flips, shows its graphic, and lands. The app names what you did.

See it in motion

Recorded in the app.

These clips are screen recordings of the app. Nothing is mocked up.

Two fingers, two shoes

The back shoe holds the tail and the front shoe flicks off the edge. The shoes lift and fade so you can see the deck turn.

Scoop and flick

Scoop the tail sideways as you flick. A short scoop is a varial. A long scoop is a 360 flip.

Pop from the nose

Hold the nose and flick down the deck. Every flip and every shuvit has a nollie version.

Make it yours

The board turns slowly while you pick the graphic, the colors, and the shoes. Each change shows at once.

Two players, one phone

Game of S.K.A.T.E.

The street game, on the phone you pass to a friend. No account, no lobby, no network: tap the two-player button and the first set is yours.

  1. Set it

Player 1 lands any trick. That trick is now the one to beat. If the setter bails, the set passes to the other player.

  2. Match it

Player 2 takes the phone and must land the same trick. A different trick or a bail is a miss.

  3. Miss it, get a letter

A miss gives a letter: S, then K, A, T, E. Five letters and you are out. The last letter gives you two tries, as in a street game.

A trick can be set one time in a game, so nobody wins with the one move you cannot do. The game works in swipe mode and in motion mode, and you can change the mode between turns.

The trick list

A pop, a flip, a spin.

Each trick is a pop, an optional flip, and an optional shuvit. The app reads the three parts and gives the move its real name.

  • Ollie
  • Nollie
  • Kickflip
  • Heelflip
  • Pop shuvit
  • Frontside pop shuvit

Shoes you drag

Two 3D shoes stand on the deck. Each finger picks up the nearest one.

A trick guide

Every trick, with the finger moves for your stance. Regular and goofy both work.

Your board

Five deck graphics, your own deck text, grip tape, wheels, and shoe colors.

A real 3D deck

Grip tape on top, graphic and trucks underneath. You see the bottom when it flips.

Motion mode

The phone is the board.

Hold the phone in both hands with the screen up. Turn it with your fingers, the way you turn a fingerboard. The top edge is the nose and the screen is the grip tape. When you finish with the screen up, the board on screen replays your exact rotation and the app names the trick.

The phone stays in your hands.

Do not throw your phone. The app checks for free fall, and a trick with the phone in the air never counts. A faster turn gives a higher pop on screen. Air time gives nothing.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your phone.

Fliptrick has no server. The app reads the motion sensors live to name a trick, and it does not store or send the readings.

  • No ads and no ad SDKs
  • No analytics, in the app or on this site
  • Motion sensor readings never leave the phone
